Our waistlines weren’t the only thing that had expanded as we started 2022 – so has our team.
Michael Connolly joined us early January on a 3-month temporary contract to work on our Computer Systems Validation (CSV) project and we are delighted he has now agreed to stay with us on a permanent basis as a Scientist I. Michael has a degree in Biomedical Sciences from Manchester Metropolitan and has just completed a Masters in Cell Biology at the University of Manchester.
“I am very happy to join XCellR8 to help in any way I can. Every member of the team has been so nice and welcoming and made my transition from education to working effortless” – Michael Connolly
January also saw Stephen North joining us as a Scientist I. He has some great lab experience plus a degree in Biology from Edge Hill University and he will be focusing on the development of our acute toxicity test replacing the LD50 with a Human Cell-Based in vitro Test.
“When starting with the company I was excited to learn different cell culture techniques to expand my existing knowledge. Throughout my first few weeks I was shown and taught the different cells that XCellR8 use in their testing. I am looking forward to adapt these new skills into future testing that I will conduct for the company and their values.” – Stephen North
Supporting us as a Scientist II in the molecular biology aspects of some of our more customised testing will be Rebecca Quelch-Cliffe. Rebecca comes to us from Abcam in Cambridge, where she has provided scientific technical support to clients, and she is now keen to return to the lab environment. She has a PhD in Stem Cell Biology from Durham University.
“I have been at XCellR8 for nearly 2 weeks, and time is flying (in a really good way)! I have received a very warm welcome from the team and I am loving getting back into the lab. I’m looking forward to getting to grips with the testing methods over the coming months and being able to use my experience to support the team.” – Rebecca Quelch-Cliffe
All candidates bring a wealth of experience and are a great fit for our team culture and values. Welcome aboard – we’re so happy to have you!
