Your opportunity to participate in our special project on skin mildness testing

If you’re working in the cosmetics or personal care industry, and would like cruelty-free, human-relevant data on skin mildness using the latest in vitro science, we have a wonderful opportunity for you. We’re in the next expansion phase of the product reference database for our flagship skin mildness test, XtraMild. It’s a great time to generate scientific data on your products at significantly reduced cost, contribute to industry knowledge, and support XCellR8’s unique cruelty-free testing mission.

How the test works

XtraMild uses a human reconstructed skin model, with extended exposure to identify even the subtlest of differences between today’s mild formulations. It was validated directly against human patch tests and is used as a pre-screen or full substitute for clinical testing, depending on the scenario. The power of the test is significantly enhanced by our unique reference database, built up over many years and providing benchmark values across a wide range of product types, which really amplifies the value when it comes to interpretation of the test results. About the project

We’re now continuing our work to build the database, further enhancing its value for industry. We’re going to be giving companies access to the test at significantly reduced cost, in return for the contribution of fully anonymised results to the database. We currently have a special interest in the following themes:

Foaming cleansers.
Skincare: healthy ageing.
Skincare as suncare.
Haircare (scalp mildness).
Babycare.
Wild card! We’re making space to run one batch of miscellaneous samples.

Just like all tests at XCellR8, XtraMild is animal-product-free, maximising human relevance and ensuring compliance with cruelty-free and vegan approaches across the cosmetics industry. It’s already in use by companies across the globe, from leading corporates to SMEs, and our data has been used in scientific publications and poster presentations at conferences all over the world.
